THE STUDIO
Transfer Studio is a London-based design practice founded in 2006 by Falko Grentrup and Valeria Hedman. Focusing on printed matter and exhibition environments, the studio has worked with clients such as MTV, The Southbank Centre and University of the Arts London. Their distinctive approach to graphic design has established the studio a reputation for imaginative, simple yet thoughtful work.
THE PEOPLE
Valeria Hedman BA (Hons) MA (CSM) Director Originally from Stockholm, Valeria is a unique designer, producing exciting work for print, exhibitions, events and anything else that will benefit from her distinctive graphic touch. As a design researcher and practitioner, she positions herself at the crossroads of communication design, urban development and socio-cultural studies and her focus is on the creative transformation of places through design. She has been awarded by D&AD, invited to speak at the University of the Arts London and is found now and again tutoring in the Arts University College at Bournemouth.
Falko Grentrup BA (Hons) MA (CSM) Director Having left his native Germany for the UK, Falko first studied Graphic Design at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth followed by a MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, where his focus was type and language. For Falko, design is practised, refined and carefully applied and he always looks to add an extra, unexpected dimension to his work. His typeface designs have been picked up by über-cool type foundry T26 and since 2007 Falko has been Visiting Tutor for Typographic Studies in the Arts University College at Bournemouth.
