Marketing & Media Magazine

Marketing & Media Magazine

A well-established magazine with a strong and loyal following for the last 20 years, Media & Marketing Magazine is one of Europe’s most celebrated periodicals for the advertising industry. Following a recent acquisition from EMAP, new publishers C Squared were keen to broaden the magazine internationally, energise the title and attract a younger audience without alienating the regular readership and approached Transfer Studio to undertake a complete redesign.

Our new design introduces a brand new masthead and size, as well as a flexible grid with a contemporary use of white space. This allows the content to breathe and improve navigation, whilst keeping regular sections recognizable. A fresh approach to information graphics and factoids including maps, charts, and tables were also established together with illustrations for new permanent sections. The carefully selected typefaces focus on better legibility, information hierarchy and multi-language support to cater for the new global audiences.

We also spotted the opportunity of extracting a whole section on new technology into a smart supplement - Converging Technologies - creating a magazine within a magazine with its very own expression appealing particularly to new media buyers. Extending connections to online content was particularly important throughout the new design and as a result of our redesign, traffic to the online content increased with 400% just in its first month of publishing.
