The stunning Cairngorms National Park is at the heart of the Scottish highlands. Surrounded by a beautiful pine forest on the banks of the river Spey and just a stone-throw away from the picturesque village of Aviemore, Pine Bank Chalets has the best of the world famous Cairngorms on its doorstep.

A charming family business, Pine Bank Chalets has been offering visitors a helpful and friendly service for many years. As a new team prepared to take over the management of the company, Pine Bank approached Transfer Studio early on to devise a new identity and generate a comprehensive overhaul of their existing website, that with its dark colour scheme, text-heavy content and lack of online booking facilities, felt dated in terms of user expectations.

Through in-depth research and analysis, Transfer Studio was able to construct a new visual identity that delivers confidence in their vision. We were also in a position to suggest valuable points that reinforced the image of Pine Bank while celebrating the company's legacy and enabling all future material to speak with one coherent voice.

Taking on board Pine Bank’s concerns for alienating loyal customers, the site design was rethought to allow the new identity to flourish while keeping the essence of their vision intact and becoming the primary source for information and bookings. Transfer Studio devised that by introducing an airy grid with strong key elements, the site would attract a larger audience and also convinced Pine Bank to let visitor testimonials have real prominence on the main page. It was also important to generate new ways of building long-term customer relationships so we supplied the company with a state of the art email newsletter system and included a newsfeed on the site, all managed by the client on a bespoke web CMS.
